Putting lifesaving skills into all parents hands.
The Sisterhood Project is partnering with First Aid providers to offer free infant and Child First Aid training to parents and carers that can’t otherwise afford it. This will help prevent and respiratory disease and save lives.
Children from rural and remote, low socio-demographic, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, are 3-4 times more likely to die from preventable illnesses and injuries.
CPR, or First Aid, provided at the scene can significantly reduce these numbers, but not all parents and carers have this life saving skill or can afford the training.
Our mission is to save children’s lives from preventable accidents and illnesses, including respiratory disease, by empowering under-resourced caregivers with the knowledge needed in an emergency.
Our free Infant and Child First Aid courses significantly improve survival rates and save lives.
Saving lives.
Preventing death.
Saving lives. Preventing death.
First Aid training has been shown time and again to have a significant impact on the outcomes of adults and children that suffer respiratory disease as a result of an accident, injury or a cardiac arrest.
With courses costing anywhere from $90-$150, for some parents it could mean going without groceries or rent for the week. For others, they simply do not have access to their finances or the freedom to choose how that money is spent.
By providing free Infant and Child First Aid courses to vulnerable and low income mothers we are empowering them to know what to do in an emergency. This knowledge can significantly improve infant and child survival rates from respiratory disease and save lives.

We also want to break down barriers by making this information easier to learn for non-English speakers and those with lower literacy levels.

Meet Grace +
Skye Larson
Grace and Skye Larson are sisters that saw a need to make first aid training more accessible to parents and carers who can’t afford it. So they decided to start The Sisterhood Project together to fund this training.
Growing up with a nurse for a mother we were encouraged to learn about first aid and were even taken along to the hospital some days by mum. We have been very fortunate to have access to her medical knowledge growing up and when having children of our own.
Grace and Skye are both very passionate about The Sisterhood Project and making a real difference to the lives of parents, carers and children while also reducing the strain on our emergency services.
